Worldwide Forensic Services Inc.(“WWFS”) recognizes the importance of privacy and security of personal information. WWFS collects and discloses fingerprints and the other personal information by lawful and fair means that are not reasonably intrusive. In order to facilitate the processing of criminal history searches, we collect personal information from an applicant which may consist of individual’s fingerprints, full name, date of birth, place of birth, height, weight, gender, address, phone number, personal biographical/descriptive information, driver’s licence number, passport number, email address, photograph and the other identifications deemed necessary to verify the applicant’s identity to ensure the accuracy of criminal history search. We may also record the information collected from the identification document(s) voluntarily presented by the applicant for identity verification.
Purpose for collection of personal information:
We collect your personal information for the purpose of submitting it to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (“RCMP”), the other law enforcement authorities, and/or their designated agents to enable them to conduct criminal history searches. By providing personal information for the purpose of obtaining criminal record search either by fingerprints or simply by name search, you have automatically given consent to WWFS to use that information for the purpose stated within that request.
Purpose for collection of payment card information:
WWFS collects credit or debit card information and the signature of the payer for processing of payment for the service we render. We do not collect or disclose related payment card information for any other purpose.
How is personal information maintained?
The security of personal information is an important element of WWFS services. WWFS stores and maintains personal information in compliance with the requirements of the “Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act” and the “Canadian Standards Association Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information”. The appropriate physical, technical and administrative measures have been put into place to protect the privacy and integrity of your personal information.
WWFS does not provide third party access to your personal information except when consented by you or allowed by you at the time of electronically submitting your fingerprints. This access is to facilitate your own wish to direct the criminal history search result from RCMP or the other agency to the person/agency/company of your choice. Unless instructed by you by way of consent, WWFS is not involved in the distribution of the criminal history search results, nor do we receive a copy of such results.
WWFS does not sell, rent, trade, disclose or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties, without your consent, except as otherwise set out in this Privacy Statement.
Limiting Collection of personal information:
WWFS restricts the collection of personal information that is necessary for the intended purpose. The personal information is collected in a fair and lawful manner.
Limiting use, disclosure and retention of personal information:
WWFS will disclose your personal information if required by law to do so, for example:

• Legally valid inquiry
• Or otherwise required by law

When a third-party (e.g. an employer or prospective employer) will be paying for our services, we may provide your name and other identifying information to the said third-party for confirming that we are processing payment for the services rendered for you.
Individual’s access to personal information:
You may ask to access or to correct for any factual errors in your personal information that WWFS will hold about you. To protect your privacy, we will take reasonable steps to establish your identity before granting access or making corrections if any.
We may deny access:
• When the request is frivolous or vexatious
• Denial of access is required or authorized by law
• Information relates to existing or anticipated legal proceedings against you
• When doing so would prejudice negotiation with you
• To protect company’s right and property
• When granting you access would have an unreasonable impact on other peoples’ privacy.
