How to Obtain an FBI Identity History Summary Check
Obtaining your FBI Identity History Summary Check (also known as a police certificate or FBI criminal record check) is fast and straightforward.
1. Walk-In Fingerprinting in Toronto
Visit our office with two valid IDs, including at least one government-issued photo ID. We will capture your fingerprints using a live scan machine and print them on an FBI-approved fingerprint card with a certified printer.
2. Submit Your Fingerprints to the FBI
You can either mail or courier your completed fingerprint card along with the FBI confirmation email directly to the FBI for processing.
3. Receive Your FBI Identity History Summary
Once processed, the FBI will send you an email notification allowing you to securely download your official police report online.
Free Retake Policy for Rejected Fingerprints
Rejection of fingerprints taken with a live scan machine is uncommon. However, in rare cases—such as due to skin conditions or age-related crease marks—the FBI may reject fingerprints. In such situations, we offer one free retake to ensure a successful second submission.
